UAA’s Dental Hygiene Clinic is providing reduced cost dental hygiene care to staff, students and community members. As part of the Dental Hygiene program, students see patients under the supervision of a dentist from the Anchorage community. The clinic is HIPAA compliant and maintains the highest level of infection control procedures for patient safety.
Services offered consist of dental examinations, dental cleanings, x-rays and sealants. Costs are less than private dental practices, however, the time needed to complete each service takes longer. X-rays are taken only at the request of the on-site dentist or with written approval from a personal dentist.
Payment for the complete treatment is expected at the end of the first visit. Payment can be made with check, money order, most major credit cards or cash. The Hygiene Clinic does not file or accept health insurance.
The clinic is only open during the academic school year. The spring semester schedule is Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 8 to 11:30 a.m.; Fridays, 8 to 11:30 a.m.
