Health fairs are popping up everywhere in October

The month of October is a really busy time for Alaska Health Fair, with events in many locations around the state. Our events offer free health screenings, health and safety education (for all ages), plus 11 affordable, comprehensive and private blood tests (starting at $20 and are only offered to those ages 18+). These tests can help you learn about your overall health and detect potential problems early, when treatment or changes in personal habits can be most effective.

Take note that our most popular test is the Chemistry/Hematology Profile ($45), which covers a total of 27 panels: infection, anemia, liver disease, clotting ability, kidney and adrenal function, liver function, bone disease, tissue disease or damage, heart function, liver function, muscle function, and coronary heart disease.

Try to take time out of your busy schedule and take advantage of our team of medical and non-medical professionals when we come to your local area. Each event listed is free and open to the public.

We need non-medical and medical volunteers, plus experienced volunteer phlebotomists, to help us meet our mission, vision and core purpose to serve all Alaskans. Time volunteered for health fairs meet continued competency requirements for RN license renewal.

We would also love and need your support at the office in both Anchorage and Fairbanks. Check out our website at http://www.alaskahealthfair.org and select the volunteer tab at the top of the main page. It just takes moments to complete and submit the form. You’ll receive an immediate confirmation email and an event email (about two weeks out) telling you what we have you doing, where, and when to show for each event you selected.

For more information, call 907-278-0234 (Anchorage) or 907-374-6853 (Fairbanks).
