Providing essential services for individuals affected with developmental disabilities is challenging even in the best of circumstances. As the nation deals with a COVID-19 pandemic, the way direct services are presented to clients is likely to shift, both in scope and availability.
The Alaska Training Cooperative (https://aktclms.org/), an online resource for training and educational opportunities within the state, is geared toward providers who serve beneficiaries of the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority. Administered under the University of Alaska Anchorage, the cooperative is responsible for providing professional development and required training to Alaska’s behavioral health workforce, even if these workers live in rural areas of the state.
To help meet the rapidly-changing needs of direct service providers during a stressful period for both clients and coworkers, The Alaska Training Cooperative is temporarily adding free distance delivery options for some new and existing training to assist agencies and their employees during this time, and provide regular updates on a broad range of resources.
Below is a partial list of available trainings and continuing education opportunities currently offered. Contact The Alaska Training Cooperative for more information.
